Using the guide

Love Machu Picchu is a free editorial field guide, offered for general information and inspiration. We write it carefully and check it against primary sources, but we make no warranty that every detail is complete, current or error-free, and we can't accept liability for decisions you make based on it. Treat our advice as a knowledgeable friend's, not as a guarantee.

The rules around the citadel change often: timed-entry prices and capacities shift, circuits are renumbered, Inca Trail permits sell out and the trail closes every February, rail fares rise and weather reroutes the gorge. Before you commit money or time, confirm the perishable detail with the official source — the Ministry of Culture's ticket portal, the rail operator, your trek agency. Where we cite something time-sensitive, we link that source so you can re-check it yourself.

We keep big-picture advice stable (routes, neighborhoods, pacing). For time-sensitive details like opening hours or ticket rules, double-check official sources close to your travel dates.
