Machu Picchu Itineraries

Ready-made routes that knot the trip together — from a tight two days to an unhurried week taking in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the citadel.

The short version
  • A two-day dash is possible but unforgiving on altitude — three to four days is the sweet spot.
  • Most good itineraries follow the same arc: acclimatize, stage in the valley, ride in, climb, ride out.
  • Add Rainbow Mountain, Humantay Lake or the Amazon only once the core citadel plan is locked.

Knot the journey together

Every Machu Picchu trip is really a sequence: acclimatize high, drop into the valley, ride or walk into the gorge, climb the citadel, and come back out. These itineraries take that arc and pace it for the time you have, with the altitude ladder built in so you sleep in the right order.
